First Baby Shower cake of the year

Wow, I have been gone so long, I feel guilty.  But I have not been just lazy.  I did have two completed projects, which I am going to share.

Working on pearl embroidery
My beautiful sister, Marquita, was given a surprise baby shower!  I was so excited because I just had to make her cake.  Thank you to her wonderful husband who finally said yes, after I hounded him at church and via text, lol.

Working on pearl embroidery
My sister, Kia, decided to get pictures of me in the process of finishing the cake (I thought it was a cool idea, so I agreed).  Hope you like them.  Most of all, I was excited because she loved the cake.

Love always,

Jae

  1. I enjoy cake decorating but I've never worked with fondant. I'm hoping to get in some practice over the summer though. The baby shower cake looks amazing!

    1. Thank you. Fondant is a pain in the summer because humidity and it does not mix well. When you do start working with it, I do not recommend you using Wilton brand (as a personal preference, it is hard to work with). Also, can't store in refrigerator or very hot/humid conditions. So as long as you have air pumping you should be fine.
